The Bultfontein police are investigating a case of inquest after the decomposed body of an unknown man was found near the municipal sewage plant by a passerby.
He reported the matter to the police on Saturday, 28 January.
When they arrived at the scene, the police found a decomposed body of an African male person between the ages of 28 to 30 years. He was lying on the ground in an open field. The deceased was wearing grey trousers and blue Relay underwear.
“The body is still at the Welkom forensic pathology services. No-one has come forward to claim the body of the deceased. The police request anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of the deceased’s relatives to contact Det. Sgt Aupa Tshabalala of Bultfontein Detective Services on 083-594-7168 or the Crime Stop number 08600-10111.
