The Gideon Robert University (GRU), a prestigious private institution from Zambia, is gearing up to establish its presence in South Africa, with Welkom poised to become its new base.
GRU has been renowned for its high academic standards and diverse programmes since its inception in 2010, holding accreditations from Zambia’s Higher Education Authority and Zambia Qualifications Authority.
Apostle Moses Sibuyi, leader of Latter Rain International Ministries in Welkom, highlighted that the university’s accreditation and Tier 1 rating underscore its commitment to quality education, making its launch in Welkom an exciting development.
A strategic conference is set for 29 November, 2 December and 3 December that will focus on planning GRU’s expansion into the Free State.
It will be hosted by Past Masilo Kose of Bread of Life Ministries. The conference will feature notable speakers including Dr. Timothy Holcomb, Chancellor of Potami International University in America, and Prof. Moses Chalwe, Chancellor of GRU in Zambia.
The three-day seminar is aimed at addressing religious leaders from the Free State. They will discuss GRU’s vision and the positive impact the new university could have on Welkom. In addition to the conference, Dr. Holcomb and Prof. Chalwe will join local business leaders for a special business breakfast. This event aims to explore investment opportunities around the GRU project, inviting business-minded community members to support the establishment of the university. The breakfast will require a small fee. For more information contact Masilo Kose on 081-318-2301, Justice Motseki on 078-392-8599 or Ace Marumo on 073-593-9646.– Wesley Manako, Community reporter
