Sensei Joe Gladstone Ralejoe of the Ring Contact Fighting Arts (RCFA) Bhubezi Fight Club attended a three-day instructor and official (judge and referee) course near Parys.

The course took place from 19 to 21 January.

The instructor course was conducted by Shihan Gerhard Laubscher, RCFA national president, and new fighting modes were introduced. These include sport boxing, semi-contact low kick, and semi-contact close combat fighting to mention a few.

Shihan Hilda Laubscher, RCFA national co-ordinator, led the official’s course.

“Master Joe Viljoen, RCFA international president, shared exciting news about the 2025 RCFA World Championships that will be held in South Africa next year, where all international countries will meet and battle it out at the Emerald Casino,” says Ralejoe.

The RCFA provincial president for Mpumalanga, Sensei Wynand Jacobs, will host Winter War, the first tournament for the year in March in Nelspruit.

“The new modes will definitely assist us with the development and growth of our fighters because our students will now get the opportunity to train and compete in both standing and ground fighting in semi-contact modes, and then transition into full contact fighters at a later stage, after building the much-needed experience.”

Classes are offered every Monday and Wednesday from 16:00. For more information, contact Shona on 062-925-9915 or send an email to bhubezifightclub@gmail.com.
