A Tree of Joy will be hung with Christmas wishes for the lonely, and often forgotten, elderly of an old age home in Bronville, Welkom.
The Flamingo Rotary club will place this tree at the entrance to the Game store at the Welkom Square on Saturday, 9 December.
Wishes of toiletries and groceries will be hung on the tree. The wishes can be plucked from the tree by members of the community who can then purchase the small gift and return it to the Rotarians, who will ensure that it is given to a needy resident.
“Game has been involved in this community project with the Flamingo Rotary club for more than 20 years. The Flamingo Rotarians hope that the public will support them in expressing the true spirit of Christmas. We do know that this campaign brings a great deal of joy to the recipients,” says Jill Lombard, a member of the Flamingo Rotary Club.
