A man was arrested in Welkom after a woman was raped in Qwaqwa, Free State.
The 30-year-old woman was raped at the Mphatlalatsane section in Tseki, Qwaqwa, by two suspects in March 2011.
The first suspect was arrested and the second was still on the run since the incident was reported. A warrant for his arrest was issued.
The Welkom Public Order Police (POP) received a tip-off regarding the whereabouts of this suspect.
On 21 March a house in Thubelisha, Thabong, was approached and a 40-year-old suspect was found and arrested.
The case is being investigated by Det. Sgt Tlaleng Mohale of the Phuthaditjhaba Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS).
