In a powerful demonstration of justice and commitment to protecting vulnerable community members, the Free State police have secured a landmark conviction in a deeply distressing child rape case this week.

On 8 July 2019, in KoeKoe Village, Maokeng, Kroonstad, an 11-year-old girl’s life was tragically disrupted when her 43-year-old next-door neighbour committed an unthinkable crime. The horrific incident was discovered when the victim’s 33-year-old mother returned home from work, uncovering the traumatic assault.
