Two Wesselsbron municipal sewage workers were shocked at the discovery of a human foetus that had been dumped at the Theunissen sewage treatment plant.
The foetus was found on Friday (17/02) at about 10:30.
The workers immediately contacted the Wesselsbron police. They showed the police where the foetus was lying and the Welkom Forensic Pathology Services was called to the scene. The foetus was then taken to the Welkom state mortuary.
The Wesselsbron police have since launched a search for the foetus’ mother.
