A total of 22 orphans and underprivileged children from the Goldfields will experience an exciting day on Friday, 6 September, when they will be flown from Welkom to Bloemfontein.
This is part of the annual The Children’s Flight event, held at the Tempe Airfield outside Bloemfontein.
It will see 500 disadvantaged children from the Bloemfontein area being treated to a once in a lifetime flight in a helicopter or airplane.
The Goldfields trip will be sponsored by pilots from Hong Kong and will be co-ordinated by Welkom’s own Elvis Manene.
Manene is South Africa’s first black air show commentator.
He was trained by world renowned air show commentator Brian Emmenis.
Emmenis, himself a local boy, says each child will receive a goody bag crammed with exciting gifts.
