Well-known singer Sthokozo Peter Skosana, has made a name for himself for creating a unique music fusion known as Raggahop.
Known by his stage name Ras Dan Solution, using the fusion of Reggae and hip hop, he has just released his first EP called AEIOU.
Skosana, who is known by his stage name Ras Dan Solution, was born in Warden, but now lives in Welkom.
He has already released four mixed tapes – AEIOU is Raggahop. Ras Dan Solution is the first artist to come with this creativity to create such a vibrant new and locally produced genre. On this EP he included well-know hip hop artists Saudi and Moses on the bonus track “Ikhekhe”.
Ras Dan Solution is using his music to inspire and motivate youth to become better in life. He sings a lot about drugs and motivating those who do not have inspiration to see the world differently.
“I started realizing my growth in the music industry when I shared the stage with the likes of Pro-Kid, Kwesta, Big Zulu, Busiswa, Dr Malinga, Bongo Riot & Jamaican artist Syd Perry just to name the few. It was big events like Macufe , Reggae Summer Splash and Qwaqwa radio Festival that gave me so much exposure in the music industry. I learned a lot from these artists,” he says.
He is currently on the tour promoting his EP. He has already performed in Cape Town, KZN, EC, GP, and he is now in Limpopo before his break through tour to Jamaica later this year.
His manager, Moleboheng Semela, says they have a recording deal in one of the big recording companies in Jamaica.
“We are raising funds for his traveling logistics, but the tickets have been secured.”
