Students of the Ring Contact Fighting Arts (RCFA) Bhubezi Fight Club in Welkom competed in the All Out War event at the Elgro Hotel in Potchefstroom on 15 April.
Gofaone Sebati (white belt) achieved first place and received a gold medal for her semicontact fight at novice level, and reached a third place in weapons fighting, receiving bronze. Oratilwe Motsamai achieved first place and received gold for his semicontact fight at novice level, and achieved third place, earning bronze, in weapons fighting.
Shihan Hilda Laubscher obtained a 6th degree black belt from Pretoria Katanas, and Sensei Joe Gladstone Ralejoe a second degree black belt.
Laubsher and Ralejoe were both part of the team officiating at the tournament, and they also competed in the senseis’ team for the Shihans vs Senseis weapons fighting category.
“The Bhubezi Warriors will now train hard in preparation for the Jungle War event next month,” says Ralejoe.
