Gofaone Sebati (13) of the RCFA Bhubezi Fight Club brought home four medals from the second annual Namib War Championships, held in Windhoek, Namibia, on Saturday, 28 September.
Gofaone was, amongst her fellow countrymen and women from other clubs in the different provinces, the only student from the Free State.
This Gr. 8 learner of Welkom Gimnasium performed well, bringing home medals from all the different modes that she competed in. She obtained gold in 1st Series; gold in weapon fight (BO); gold in weapon fight (Baton); and bronze in semi-contact high kick.
“Gofaone is an incredibly talented student, with exceptional agility and precision. Her focus and discipline will take her far in the sport,” says Sensei Joe Gladstone Ralejoe.
“She continues to excel and always raises the bar for herself. Her support structure is solid, and that’s paramount in order for an athlete to reach their full potential.
“She is a true ambassador for the sport and club, and she has established herself as an inspiration and role model to her peers.”
