This year South Africans celebrate Drug Awareness Week (24 to 28 June) as well as International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking (26 June).
The youth is seen as society’s future and it is important that their mental health is protected at all costs. The South African National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence (Sanca) is a non-governmental organisation (NGO), and according to their website, their major objectives are the prevention and treatment of alcohol and other drug dependence.
