The Bronville Sports and Arts Festival was held for the first time this year on 7 August at the Bronville Stadium, and will become an annual event.
The festival consists of rugby, soccer and netball tournaments, as well as an outdoor pageant.
The festival is co-owned by celebrity soccer star, Anver “Gube” Esterhuizen, and entertainment personality and businessman, DJ Taaibos.
Esterhuizen played for Premier Soccer League (PSL) teams such as Bloemfontein Celtic FC, Free State Stars FC and Swallows FC which is based in Johannesburg.
Taaibos is the founder of BellaDiosa Talent and Sports Agency which operates in Bloemfontein, Welkom and Johannesburg.
Through the agency he manages models, sports personalities and celebrity musicians, to mention only a few.
Both Esterhuizen and DJ Taaibos are from Vergenoeg, a suburb in Bronville.
Vegas Stars, a netball team from Thabong in Welkom, were crowned champions after winning the netball tournament.
