The annual Makiti Kontrei Festival is three years old and is one of the Amari School’s biggest fundraising projects. Approximately 9?000 people attended the festival this year. “Were it not for the dedicated support of our staff and volunteer crew, it could not have been such a success,” says Phillip Scott, principal of the Amari School. “Our sponsors and visitors also made this festival a success.” Amari is a school for severely mentally handicapped learners. There are currently 240 learners at the school.
