Our lives (just like the weather) tend to be out of balance. While there are a few days of too much, there are many of too little. This becomes the source of pressure in our lives.
In our days of scarcity, we are tempted to view ourselves as failures.
Think about it this way: Have you ever felt like you have let yourself and others down? Be assured that you are not the only one. Let us zoom in on the life of Peter.
Peter was a part of Jesus’ inner circle. In Matthew 26:33, he boldly declares: Even if all fall away on account of you, I never will.
A few hours later, he denied knowing Jesus. When he came back to his senses he wept bitterly. He realised the magnitude of his error. Thus, he repented.
In our everyday life, we make mistakes. It is important to not give up on ourselves. There is Jesus who is ready to forgive us. Peter learnt valuable lessons from his failure.
After the resurrection, he is the man Jesus commissions to go and feed His sheep. Who would have thought that the same Peter would be the one to raise Tabitha to life in Acts 9:36, let alone write two epistles, 1 and 2 Peter?
Proverbs 24:16 says: For though the righteous fall seven times, they rise again. We will all fail sometime. Use any failure as a stepping stone to betterment. Turn to Jesus, He is ready to forgive you and restore you to a great position. He wants to use even those who have failed before.
