A former employee of a business in Bronville has been arrested for being in possession of stolen property.
Members of Welkom Public Order Policing (POP), led by WO Thabo Booy, were busy with their routine crime combat duties when they received information about a former employee of a towing service company who had allegedly stolen property belonging to the company.
Capt. Stephen Thakeng, media liaison officer for the Lejweleputswa police, says the information was operationalised on Monday, 24 June, and a house was identified and approached in Hani Park Bronville.
“The owner was at home, and permission was granted to search. Keys of a Tata vehicle, a radio loud speaker and five vehicle keys belonging to customers were identified by the owner of the towing company,” says Thakeng.
A man (36) who used to work for the company was arrested for possession of suspected stolen items and theft.
These items are valued at R16 000.
