“The community policing forum ensures that the communication between children, teachers, parents and the police is restored, making it easier for the children to report crimes that happen in the community to the police,” says Ashley Tshehle, field reporter for the forum.

“Sports activities can help take the children off the streets,” she says.

The Department of Correctional Services, the Department of Education and paramedics came to inform the children of the dangers of crime and drugs and how it can ruin your future.

A trophy and medals were sponsored by Elrico Lukas and Phillip Borman under the Super Sunday’s Organisation.

This was to ensure that the children in the community felt honoured.

The aim of the day was to restore the relationship between the community and the police to ensure that drugs and crime are removed from the streets and that sports is encouraged amongst the children.
