Entires for the annual Mediclinic Vista Eskom Athletic Club Free State road race, that will take place on Friday, 19 August, have opened.
This year the women’s race celebrates 20 years of running excellence, and depicts the theme, “The Gift of Time”.
By entering, women and their families, could win a specially designed medal and other prizes are also up for grabs.
The first 200 entries in any one of the 5 km or 10 km categories stand the chance to win one of the lucky draw prizes.
Entrants may enter using an entry form at one of the entry points in Welkom. Entries may be done from Monday to Friday, from 08:30 to 17:00 at PKF Auditors (296 Stateway), Lezmin Computer (395 Stateway), Sydney Cars (184 Jan Hofmeyer Road, Industrial Area), or enter on entryninja.com.
Forms can be collected from 11 July to 18 August with the online entries’ proof of payment requested.
No entries or collection of entries will be accepted on the day of the event.
Updates and events pertaining to the race will be published in Vista, the official media sponsor.
The start and finish of the race on 19 August is at Mediclinic Welkom, Meulen Street.
- The race will include different distances for different age categories: 16:30 – 1,5 km Fun Race for 9 years and older (wheelchair and disabled). The cost is R30 and the helpers for the wheelchair race also pay R30.) 16:30 – 1,5 km Fun Walk, Fun Run, Children’s Race for 7 years to 15 years, cost is R30.) 16:30 – 1,5 km Masters Fun Walk, Fun Run for 60+, cost is R50.) 17:00 – 100 m Toddler Race, Walk for 3 to 6 years, cost is R30. ) 18:00 – 5 km Fun Walk, Run – women only – 12 years and older, cost is R70.) 19:00 – 10 km Open Men and Women Race, Walk for 16 years and older, cost is R120 (includes R70 temp number).
Runners do not have to belong to a club to enter any of these races.
