Four blackball players of the Lejweleputswa Blackball Federation won silwer and gold at the South African championships.
In the U18 team league U18, three of the juniors won silver medals, and one U23 won a silver medal for the team league, as well as a gold medal for best performer in the Free State U18 Championships.
The SA’s werecompetition was held at the Tempe Cue Sport Academy in Bloemfontein from 6 June to 1 July.
Tanya Welgemoed, chairman of the club, says one of her juniors, Juandré de Bruin, was selected to represent South Africa at the Blackball International World Championships in Morocco in October.
The Lejweleputswa teams are:
- U18 A – Juandré de Bruin, Ethan Lennon and Hendro van Tonder;
- U18 B – Michael Ackerman, Chane van den Berg, Lesego Pholedi and Jayden du Plessis;
- U15 A – Amiru Hlungwane, Jayden Fourie and Elzandrio Ouman;
- U15 B – Ethan Swartz and Renzo Meyers; and
- U23 – Juvan van Breda, Juandré de Bruin and JP de Bruin (U23) competed in the South African championships at Gold Reef City in May.
