Drownings after heavy rains are a cause for concern

Heavy rains have led to quarries and dams overflowing, road closures and water damming up in open fields.

In January five people, including two children, have drowned.

“When it’s hot, children swim in available water – and this can lead to disasters,” says Capt. Stephen Thakeng, police spokesperson.

He urges parents to know the whereabouts of their children at all times.
