The police are on the hunt for a motorist involved in a hit-and-run incident which resulted in the death of a 14-year-old boy.

An unknown vehicle hit the teenager on Saturday, 2 March, next to Hani Park in the Welkom-Virginia road. The driver never stopped after the accident and was seen heading in the direction of Virginia.

The victim was certified dead at the scene by the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) team.

The wanted motorist is reportedly travelling in a silver Mazda 3 SUV hatchback. The registration plates, however, are unknown.
