The University of Free State (UFS) is hosting the Kougom student camp in 2024 and their motto is Empowering the Leaders of Tomorrow.
The camp will prepare the students for an extraordinary journey of inspiration, connection and transformation.
Kougom is organized by the Kopanong student ministry and next year’s camp promises to be a life-changing experience for undergraduate students from all walks of life.
The camp will be set against the stunning backdrop of the Mooigenoeg campsite, Kougom is taking place from 12 January to 15 January.
Kougom 2024 is a celebration of community, trust, and spiritual growth. There will be activities like stalk the lantern, scavenger hunt, water sports, trust and team-building exercises, worship sessions, meditative sessions, and Bible quizzes. The camp fosters connections and camaraderie among attendees.
The theme will be “Time to Rise” so that students can be inspired to be reborn through their faith in Christ and rise as the leaders of tomorrow.
The theme invites campers to explore the profound story of Lazarus and his resurrection, this narrative is the heartbeat of the camp, serving as a powerful metaphor for rebirth and new beginnings.
Kougom 2024 focuses on the duality of the theme, students are not only entering a new era in their lives but also stepping into their role as the future leaders of South Africa, empowered by their Christian faith.
Undergraduates are welcome at the Kougom 2024, with the aim to create a larger Christian community where students up to the age of 25 can connect, grow spiritually, and be empowered as future leaders.
Students can secure their spot by registering online at www.kopanongchurch.org/kougom.
A deposit of R 350 or the full R1 000 for the camp is required, registrations are open till 8 January 2024.
Kougom 2024 promises an unforgettable experience where students will build lasting relationships, deepen their faith, and embrace their role as the leaders of tomorrow.
