Sometimes we can see the most beautiful flower growing in the most unlikely of places.
For example, think of a beautiful lily that emerges from a dark, chaotic compost pile. It seems to be impossible, but when this beautiful flower appears we enjoy its splendour and beauty.
The seemingly chaotic appearance of the compost pile is the breeding ground for the flower that emerges. When we look at the world around us, we see a compost heap from which nothing good can emerge – from a human perspective.
This reminds me of the scripture Mat 19:26: But Jesus looked at them and said to them: “With men it is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
It is quite possible that your circumstances seem chaotic, but this scripture wants to encourage you today that with God all things are possible. Your circumstances are quite possibly the platform from which God wants to start something new in your life and circumstances.
The year 2023 is at an end; perhaps you feel it was a failure, but God wants to use your embarrassments as opportunities in 2024 to bring you to the goal He has for you in this coming year.
When you drive a car and constantly look in the rear-view mirror, you could drive off the road and possibly cause an accident.
The Word commands us to forget what is behind and to reach forward to reach the winning post. This is why the front windscreen of the car is a hundred times bigger than the rear-view mirror.
Phil. 3:13: I don’t depend on my own strength to accomplish this; however I do have one compelling focus: I forget all of the past as I fasten my heart to the future instead.
Do not let your past get in the way of what God wants to do for you in 2024. Allow your embarrassments and failures of 2023 to contribute to your success in 2024.
