On Friday, 25 October, a diesel tanker overturned in the Orange roundabout, Stateway and Koppie Alleen Road.
Emergency medical services (EMS) were on the scene while the diesel spillage was being cleaned up.
According to eye witness accounts, the traffic flow was delayed between 15:00 and 20:00, until the final clean-up was concluded.
Members of the public complained that the traffic was not being regulated by the traffic department, which was causing some confusion as this is a busy traffic circle in a main Welkom traffic feed.
One eyewitness cautioned road users on the WelkomCity Stad Facebook page that there was a lot of fuel in the road. Some Facebook users were scared that the spilled fuel could catch fire, and maybe cause an explosion.
No other accidents or casualties were reported
