The South African Country and Western Open Line Dance Championship will take place in the Ferdi Meyer Hall, Welkom.
The championship commences on Friday (07/10) at 14:00. It will continue on Saturday (08/10) and Sunday, at 09:00 on both days. The event concludes on Sunday.
“Dancers from all over South Africa will take part and some high quality dancing can be expected,” says Johan Bakker, the organiser.
Several South African champions will be in action, icluding two world champions.
The competition will be judged by several international judges hailing from Spain and the Netherlands. There will also be showdance performances.
This competition serves as a means of qualifying for the World Championship taking place in Spain in June 2023.
Most of the dancers who qualify over the weekend will be chosen to represent South Africa next year.
