We hereby retract the previous Facebook (15 April 2025) post alleging that GIC abandoned the works on the project. The appointed contractor was selected through due procurement processes, with GIC acting solely as the Turnkey Developer on behalf of the client. To claim that GIC abandoned the project is misleading and factually incorrect.

The flooding and damage mentioned in the earlier post was caused by excessive rainfall and the contractor’s unlawful repudiation of the contract and abandonment of the site. Contrary to the claim that “GIC has cited its inability to source a TLB as its only excuse,” GIC intervened before the Facebook post was published. On 14 April 2025, GIC deployed heavy plant equipment to clear stormwater channels, restore access routes, and construct berms to protect homes. These actions were taken outside GIC’s contractual mandate due to delays in appointing a replacement contractor and out of concern for the community’s well-being. Photographic evidence from 14 April 2025 supports these interventions.

GIC has procured a new contractor to resume and complete the on-site works in June 2025.

We regret the misinformation and any undue concern caused by the earlier post and remain committed to responsible communication.
