The much-anticipated Mr and Miss Face of Matjhabeng pageant will take place at the Clock Tower in Welkom on Saturday, 30 November.
This prestigious competition is the brainchild of Rito Madingana, a young entrepreneur and an accomplished businesswoman, model, and beauty queen.
Mr and Miss Face of Matjhabeng is a non-profit organisation (NPO). Madingana promises the lives of the young people who join her organisation will never be the same.
“We groom girls and boys spiritually, mentally, and physically, and then we mould them to be a positive influence within the society. We believe it is important to live a meaningful life of purpose and impact and we touch lives through our giving and outreach programmes,” says Madingana.
“Our aim and vision is to empower young men and women, take them off the streets, out of poverty and dire situations, and teach them soft skills that will enable them to get employment and contribute to our economic growth. We give them hope for a better future,” she says.
On Saturday, 23 November, the entrants hosted a recycling fashion show.
“The concept of the fashion show was to educate the kids on self-worth coming from within – your character and respect towards humans is what makes you who you are, not the value of your clothes. We must treat each other with humility and kindness, regardless of our background, ability and social status.”
With the money generated from ticket sales, the entrants will be donating Christmas toys to children.
“We would like to invite you to our second annual Mr and Miss Face Matjhabeng gala event, where we will select our 2024 ambassador who will continue to assist us in projects that bring about change for the youth in education, sport, arts, agriculture and entrepreneurship,” says Madingana.
The event will take place between 13:00 and 18:00 on Saturday.
