The Ring Contact Fighting Arts (RCFA) Bhubezi Fight Club competed at the second annual Battle of False Bay Championships on 7 October in Somerset West, Cape Town, and returned home after delivering admirable performances.

They brought home a total of six medals, and both fighters won their fights in their respective weight class divisions for novices. Gofaone Sebati came second in the intermediate division.

Sensei Joe Gladstone Ralejoe, who formed part of the team of officials for the tournament, was a centre referee for the weapon fights and a judge for the fights including the main card bouts.

Siyabonga Gina was awarded gold for semi-contact fight (novice), and bronze for the 1st Series. Gofaone Sebati attained gold for contact fight (novice), silver for semi-contact fight (intermediate), gold for weapon fight (baton), and silver for the 1st Series.

“The stage was too big, but we managed to keep our composure and that helped us perform at our optimum level and ultimately achieve the desired results.

“Our recent feat will definitely boost the moral and confidence of the entire team. We remain humble and just continue to be ready for the next tournament,” says Ralejoe.
