On 15 June the Free State Cycling Time Trail and Criterium championships were held at Vredefort.
The Welkom Cycling Club was represented by Ronel Baiylie, Peter Muller Snr, Peter Muller Jnr, Piet Nel, Tertius Lotter, Marin Erasmus and Wian Lubbe.
The members did exceptionally well, and Baiylie came first in the woman’s time trail and first in the woman’s road race for women 60+.
Peter Muller Snr came first in the men criterium and second in the Men TT 50+.
Peter Muller Jnr came first in the Men TT, first in the men criterium and first in the road race Men 30+.
Piet Nel came second in the criterium and second in the road race men 50+.
Tertius Lotter came first in the road race men 40+ and Wian Lubbe came first in the elite road race.
In all the Welkom Cycling Club took home 11 medals.
