The Mamelodi Sundowns Supporters Club (Sundowns Local Divas) in Odendaalsrus has embarked on a mission to take Action Against Poverty in Kutlwanong.

To this end, some club members spent their 6367 Minutes for Mandela Day with an elderly resident of the township, Sister Marokane (72).

This venture to inspire and to take action was done under the leadership of the club’s chairman, William Sefotlhelo.

“Mandela dDay is more than a celebration of Mandela’s life and legacy, it is to honour his life’s work and to change the world for the better,” says Diva Pearl Mokhatla, spokesperson for the club.

Marokane lives alone in an unsafe, delapitateddilapidated house. The club gave her groceries, a morning gown, slippers and a blanket to keep her warm.

Sefotlhelo said that everyone, no matter an individual’s circumstances, can make a difference in the community.
