Clarion call to keep using water sparingly repeated

The Department of Water and Sanitation’s (DWS) weekly state of reservoirs report is reflecting a water storage of 101,8% in the Free State.

This is a minor decrease from the first week of June, when a storage level of 102,0% was indicated.

The Bloemfontein Water Supply System, supplying the capital of the Free State and other surrounding areas, has witnessed a marginal downturn from 100,2% last week to 99,5%.

The Rustfontein Dam and Groothoek Dam feeding Bloemfontein are sitting at 99,5% and 97,9% respectively. In Lejweleputswa, the Allemanskraal Dam this week (10/06) is at 99,1.%, while the Erfenis Dam is at 100,3%.

“The DWS encourages the public to continue using water sparingly,” says Nondumiso Mciteka, principal communication officer.
