For nearly 25 years the Flamingo Rotary Club in Welkom has organised the annual Tree of Joy campaign.
Seven different retirement and old age homes, as well as the Charlotte Moll Haven in Virginia benefit from this venture, says Jill Lombard of the Flamingo Rotary Club.
“Residents of the chosen homes give us a wish for Christmas, and then these wishes are hung on the Christmas tree, which this year is situated at the entrance to Game, Welkom Square,” says Lombard.
The public can choose a card and buy the gift to put a smile on the elderly persons face.
“We will wrap the gift and deliver it before Christmas. Please support Flamingo Rotary with this project. We will be at the Game entrance of Welkom square on 15 December from 17:00,” says Lombard.
Game will be offering a 10% discount on purchases from 17:00 on that day.
