Many caring hearts and generous hands came together to make the Ziyaduma Arts Promotions’ fundraising Give and Begiven charity concert in aid of Thabong Hospice a major success.

The event was held at the Lejweleputswa Arts and Culture Centre on 4 May.

“Our gratitude goes to the Department of Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation, which offered the venue; the Matjhabeng community and art lovers, who paid and supported as an audience; the Khotsong Old Age Club; the ReFeng Kgotso Old Age Club; the Kopano ke Matla Old Age Club; the Success Cultural Group; the Khotsong Cultural Group; the Thusanang Traditional Dancers; the Dripsquard dancers; the Crushers Dancers; the Tiny Vintage; the Reformed Church Youth; Nomalanga Vanga and Varidra Pinto,” says Saduma Miya, organiser and promoter of the charity drive.

Miya says the Khotsong Old Age Club and Ziyaduma Arts Promotions donated secondhand clothing to Hospice.

This was the second charity concert.

He added that the success of this charity drive has inspired, encouraged and motivated him to do more.

“I want to prove the important role played by youths involved in the arts in community development,” he says.

The next charity concert, Youth Power in Concert, in aid of the Refeng Khotso Old Age Club, will be held at the Shalom Church, Themba, in Thabong on 8 June. The event will also serve to kick off Youth Month celebrations.
