The elderly Odendaalsrus couple arrested for possession of suspected stolen copper cable belonging to the Matjhabeng Municipality have again appeared in the Odendaalsrus Magistrates’ Court.
On Monday (12/12) William Wadham Bird (72) and his wife Hilda Theresa Bird (67) both appeared.
The case has been postponed while investigation continues. Their bail conditions have been extended.
The husband was granted R2 000 bail with strict conditions. He had to hand in his passports and he will be signing in weekly at a local police station.
- His wife was granted R1 000 bail. Vista previously reported that the accused is Harry Bird, as per the SAPS statement released at the time of the arrests. The correct names of the accused are William Wadham Bird (72) and his wife, Hilda Theresa Bird (67). We apologise for the mistake. The wrong name was included as such in the SAPS statement.
