A vibrant, colourful and exciting open day, themed around community engagement and youth empowerment was held at the Bongani Hospital in Welkom.
“As part of being a government institution, we aimed at bridging the gap between communities and healthcare professionals and services at large,” said Dr Reggie Mkatsane, Medical Director at Bongani.
The successful open day was held on 11 September.
“The objective was also to educate and provide career guidance to learners with interests in Health Sciences Careers such as Medicine, Dietetics, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Pharmacy, and Nursing,” Mkatsane told Vista.
It was a very colourful event with all hospital services on display and each department’s staff was on hand to educate and inform the learners.
