The man whose body was found in a furrow next to the shopping centre in Constantia Road, Thabong, has been identified.
The body of the late Mthutuzeli Ntjotini (31) was found on 22 October at 06:26.
Thabong police received a tip-off which led to the arrest of two suspects.
After a thorough investigation by WO Gerrie Nel of Thabong Serious and Violent Crime, only one suspect was charged with the murder whereas the other could not be positively linked with the crime.
A foreign national, Pelo Joshua Mokake (30), appeared in the Welkom Magistrate’s Court on 24 October.
He has abandoned his formal bail application and remains in custody.
