Body discovered in burnt bush; still not claimed by relatives

The body of an unknown African male was found in a burnt bush at the Olivine farm in Virginia. The body was half-naked and partially decomposed.


The body of an unknown African male was found in a burnt bush at the Olivine farm in Virginia. The body was half-naked and partially decomposed.

Th body was discovered by a passer-by on Wednesday, 24 August. According to an identity document found in the pocket of the jacket the man was wearing, he is Mpumelelo Happyness Ngomba (23). Ngomba’s relatives could not be traced through the Department of Home Affairs, and he has not yet been officially identified. The body is currently being kept at the state mortuary in Welkom. An inquest docket has been opened for further investigation.
