The Bronville police are investigating a case of culpable homicide after an unknown male was fatally struck by a motor vehicle.
On 2 August 2024 police were summoned to an accident scene on the R730 road near Bronville. Upon arrival at the scene, police members discovered an unknown adult male lying face-down. He was certified dead on the scene.
At the time of the accident, the deceased was wearing a navy blue jacket, navy blue tracksuit pants, tan fleece joggers underneath, and black All-Star sneakers. A pink backpack containing clothes was also found on the scene. The deceased is estimated to be in his 40s.
The body is still at the Welkom Government Mortuary and is yet to be identified.
Police are appealing to anyone with information that could help locate relatives of the deceased or help identify the deceased to come forward.
