- Dricus du Plessis picked up the biggest win of his career while making a statement against Darren Till at the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) 282 in Las Vegas.
According to the mixed martial arts (MMA) fighting website, the official stoppage came at 2:43 in the third round of his ultimate fight on.
In an interview after the grueling battle, Du Plessis (Stillknocks) said “The gas tank can never be empty.
“It can go a little bit low, but it never goes empty. Third round, it comes down to that dog and who’s toughest. Bring on that last round, we are always going to win it. I just beat freaking Darren Till, how awesome is that? Hello top 10,” he said after his win.
Vista previously reported on Du Plessis when he won his Ultimate Fighting Championship UFC 264 fight against American opponent Trevin Giles with a second-round technical knockout (TKO) in the sold-out T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on 10 July.
The darling of South African mixed martial arts circles beat the higher-ranked Giles in their preliminary middleweight bout.
Du Plessis was rewarded with a performance-of-the-night cash bonus of R1,06 million following the impressive TKO.
Dricus is a former learner of the Naudeville Primary School.
