Best petals draw crowd

The Northern Free State Clivia Club (NFCC) held its annual show on 14 September, with resounding success.

“With Stefan Ferreira and Thys Bezuidenhout taking the top prizes, we would like to congratulate them and all the other participants for putting on a splendid display of Clivias and leaf plants. A total of 169 plants were entered for the show by contributing members,” says club spokesperson, Pauline Mattana.

Stefan Ferreira won first, second, and third place for his blooms, and an award for most exquisite flower.

Mattana also extended the club’s thanks to the community at large for supporting the show and the NFCC.

“We welcome the new members and also extended a warm welcome to the women who joined,” says Mattana.

The show was held at the Dutch Reformed Church Hall, on the corner of Stateway and Arrarat Road.

Judging was done by esteemed judge Hennie van der Mescht.
