A Welkom swimming school was part of the 11th three-hour long, worldwide aquathon held on 11 November.

Julie Hundermark was the host and aqua instructor.

There were 20 participants, aged between 16 and 75 years, who took part.

This is a worldwide annual event to raise awareness on the benefits of water aerobics.

“It is all about getting fit and mobile by doing a range of excercises in the pool.”

Participating were Sanet and Mia Doubell, Madeleine Eloff, Boitumelo Mothibi, Donna and Travis van Wyk, Hettie Croble, Anime Botes, Nelly Mokhotso Matsaisa, Ellen Kgabileng, Rorisang Makhume Rethabile Molahloe, Des Herbst, Jo-Ann Kok, Bandi Yose, Jane Haywood, Eunice Macdonald, and Lere Jansen van Vuuren.
