Beauty with a Purpose came to the rescue to help the Claws animal rescue shelter after all the animal food (including the carrots for the horses) was stolen.
On 14 November Ilse Pretorius, winner of the Dream Girl Global People’s Choice pageant was instrumental in getting a substantial donation from Christelle Christowitz of a local pet store at Welkom Square.
Christelle said her shop has been in Welkom for six years. “It is always nice to help a worthy charity,” she said.
Pretorius did all of the organising to get the food to its destination. “They are absolutely amazing, and Christelle was so awesome in lending us a big hand to make it possible. We are very grateful for the support.”
Rochelle Howard of Claws said it was a welcomed gift indeed. “This was far more than we expected, and this spectacular donation changes the animals’ lives here at our Claws orphanage, because that is what Claws really is. We are so very grateful,” said Howard.
