Hope for the Week
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. – Galatians 6:9
As I write, it is the peak of the winter season in the Free State.
We thank God, we have been seeing the sunshine a bit above average this year.
However, there is the demon called load shedding, plunging the country into partial and at times total darkness.
We are so used to operating with electricity, our lives are structured that way and it becomes so difficult to maneuver.
I want to assure you that against this gloom picture, there is our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ who remains faithful. To connect with him, you do not need electricity.
He is forever available. Even in darkness, with him, you can smile.
I have been unfortunate to witness a sad trend in our local supermarkets and a few other shops I have been to, even at a dentist I visited recently.
It seems there is no excitement in the people that serve the public.
I want to plead with everyone to just give that smile. Just that smile will brighten my dull day.
Be the Shunamite woman who gives unconditionally (2 Kings 4:8ff). She provided for the man of God just from assessing the situation.
Our current situation requires kindness. Let’s greet each other, smile at each other and exchange kind words all the time.
Hard times will surely pass. To hasten the process, I need to do my part well, and so do you.
Let’s join hands with the Nehemiahs that the Lord sends to us time and again and rebuild our city.
Therefore, let us continue doing good. I pray that better days dawn quickly on all of us.
However, in our waiting, let us always give a smile. ) Grace Mufara is of the Covenant Apostolic Church, Virginia.
