Residents are sternly warned against bogus cops on a robbing spree in Matjhabeng.
The acting district commissioner of Lejweleputswa, Brig Envor Solomon would like to give a warning to the residents especially those on pension, recipients of Road Accident Fund and those have money as they are targets.
Several cases of two African females and two African males whom one of them will ask to keep something valuable in your home like welding machine or laptop and that they will be back to fetch it.
They will suddenly approach your home pretending to be police officers, request to search your house and find that valuable item.
The victim will be told they are arrested and will be taken to Odendaalsrus police station, travelling with a white sedan vehicle and requested to bring your ID and cellphone.
Some of them will wait outside the police station, while others will pretend to enter the premises.
Some victims are taken to the North West, Bloemfontein or Bothaville where hard earned cash will be robbed using the App on your cellphone or enter the bank to withdraw cash on several days when you reach your limits.
If you suspect these individuals are at your house, you are advised to make a call in a locked room to contact the real SAPS members.
Residents are also warned if you stay or reside far away from the Police Station, do not walk on foot especially during the night, call on this numbers and ask for assistance.
Management will make a follow up if anything goes wrong when reporting.
