Excitement is growing as the annual Madiba walk/run for charity draws near.
The Madiba Run will take place on 19 July at 17:30, outside entrance 2 of the Goldfields Mall, Welkom.
Athletes may register online.
The registration site opens on Thursday, 18 July, from 10:00 to 18:00 and again on Friday, 19 July, from 10:00 to 17:15, just before the event.
As part of your entry fee, competitors are encouraged to donate any non-perishable food or pet food.
All collections and monies go towards the Woman’s Day feeding Project on 9 August.
To enter the 2 km or 5 km fun walk will cost R50 per person.
The 10 km registered run will cost R100, and an additional R50 for a temporary licence if required.
Registration takes place at the information desk in the mall at entrance 2.
Residents of Welkom must be aware that Stateway, incoming lane, from the R30 intersection to the Strip circle, will be closed from 17:15 until 19:45.
