Welkom’s very own celebrity DJ, Meshak Taaibos, continues to make his mark on the international stage.
He has just been nominated for the upcoming 22nd annual Southern Entertainment Awards (SEA) ceremony, which will be held in the city of Atlanta in Georgia, America.
Known as DJ Taaibos, he is a renowned national and international modelling coach and agent, celebrity artists manager, events coordinator, and businessman. Having made appearances on national TV channels, Taaibos was also a lead in the reality show Yimlo on Channel 161 on DStv, hosted by Dineo Ranaka.
Taaibos comes from Vergenoeg, a suburb in Bronville, Welkom, and has been nominated in the category for internet/streaming DJ of the year.
This comes less than a year after he signed an international music publishing and distribution deal with American-based music publishing and distribution company, Verseone Media LLC. This company also works with the American rapper and Grammy award winner T.I., who released the songs “Whatever You Like” and “Live Your Life”.
This contract will ensure that his music is published and distributed all over the world.
Taaibos released his house single, titled “Our Time (Pt 1 of 2),” less than a year ago and it has since been made available globally on all leading digital music stores and all popular social media platforms, courtesy of VerseOne Distribution.
Taaibos says the music video of this single is expected to be officially released globally early next year.
The SEA is one of the most recognised award ceremonies in America, and has previously honoured big global superstar musicians such as Nicky Minaj, Yo Gotti, B.o.B and DJ Drama, to name but a few.
What makes this international nomination so special is that Taaibos’ modelling agency, Belladiosa, was nominated in the category for model agency of the year for three years in a row (2015, 2016 and 2017), and now he is nominated individually as a DJ at the same awards show.
The 22nd annual SEA ceremony is scheduled to occur in Atlanta on 18 May 2025.
