The name Radiant Realms is influenced by the realms of human life, namely physical, mental, emotional and spiritual.

“We as artists believe our purpose is to share or radiate the realms through our art pieces,” says Lolo Makhubedu, founder of the group.

Radiant Realms is a family of five creative minds birthed in Meloding, Virginia and was established in 2024.

The group comprises three girls and two boys, and the aim is to execute different types of painting styles in different forms.

“We want to create fashionable and meaningful aesthetics to meet the specific needs and requirements of the people who commission us,” says Lolo.

They are: Lolo Gadaffi Makhubedu (24), who was born in Bushbuckridge Mpumalanga, and attended Thomas Nhlabathi High School in Embalenhle; Lerato Makhetha (18), who was born and raised in Virginia, and is still at school at Virginia High School; Zinhle Gumede (20), who was born and raised in Virginia, and went to school at the Mamello Secondary School in Meloding; Michelle Maletele (22), who was born and raised in Virginia, and went to school at the Mamello Secondary School; and Paul Ramaisa (21), who was born and raised in Virginia, and went to school at the Mamello Secondary School.

“We met through a friend who knew us separately and knew our independent work so he made means to help us meet – and from there the group was formed.

“We started as individuals who loved art and passionately pursued it.

“Although each of us has our own uniqueness when it comes to expressing art, we have managed to become one collective group that went from five strangers to a family of art.

“We are proud to say that we met through art, which is a passion for us,” says Lolo.

Radiant Realms consists of one component, which is the Art Culture.

“We express ourselves in different ways through art, and we personalise an experience or item to align with the unique preferences, taste or requirements of a customer.

“We offer an avenue for personal expression, letting customers infuse their purchases with their own taste, needs and experiences,” says Lolo.

They believe there is more to art than what people think.

“We have an unique skillset that can influence, inspire or touch souls in ways words cannot,” says Lolo.

The group has already landed big names like Sliq Magagula, who gave them their first job of doing 20 T-shirts for his record label, and also the famous Bontle Smith, for whom they created a custom made T-shirt with her face on it.
