Following allegations of rape in Thabong, members of the Welkom Public Order Policing (POP) arrested a 34-year-old suspect.
On Sunday, 22 June, the police received information on the suspect’s whereabouts.
“The information was operationalised, which led them to a house in New Stands, Thabong. On arrival, members found a man loitering in the yard. When asked about the whereabouts of the alleged suspect, he informed the police that the wanted person was not around. While searching around the yard, the police found a woman hiding in the outside toilet and informed members that the suspect had gone out.
