A suspected Allanridge drug dealer was arrested for being in posession of a variety of drugs, including crystal meth and Nyaope.
Members of the Welkom Anti-Gang unit received information from Crime Intelligence about a man dealing in drugs in Nyakallong.
The information was operationalised on 19 June, and the suspect’s house was identified and approached.
“An African male was found and permission was granted to search. They found 13 packets of crystal meth weighing 3,46 g, nine Mandrax tablet halves, 16 Mandrax tablet quarters, one packet of the Nyaope drug weighing 0,22 g, and R452 cash,” says Capt. Stephen Thakeng, media liaison officer for the Lejweleputswa police.
The drugs were seized and a 36-year-old man was arrested for dealing and possessing drugs.
He appeared in the Odendaalsrus Magistrates’ Court on 21 June.
