Stuck in a ‘Q and A’ loop
The Welkom Airport remains a bone of contention. During a stakeholder meeting that was held on 2 April, the Welkom Business Forum, some DA councillors and the developer had put forward many questions, but no answers given in turn. “What they did decide on was that the business forum will nominate a task team that will work in conjunction with the councillors, the municipality, and the developer to get all the questions answered, as currently there is a huge communication gap,” says cllr Estelle Dansey. “The questions regarding the current lease
agreements of tenants have been taken back to the municipality and they
committed to another meeting where all the questions will be answered,” she confirmed.
